Inaugural Building the Future conference paves the way for a better industry
2 October 2023
The Building the Future Commission ran its first conference on 27th September, attracting influential names and organisations across the industry.
The event kicked off with Chloe McCulloch, our editorial director, relaying the campaign’s activity as well as announcing the interim findings from the commission report due to be published at the end of the year.
Then throughout the afternoon over 300 attendees listened to panels and keynotes expressing their thoughts on how to tackle key issues facing the built environment. Live polls and Q&As on the various topics allowed audience members to interact with the sessions live and share their own opinions.
The conference transitioned in the evening to a shortlisting party for the Building Awards and Architect of the Year Awards to celebrate the exceptional work produced over the last year.
