Assemble partners with IBP for expanded journalism internship programme

23 May 2024

Assemble Media Group is expanding its internship programme in partnership with the non-for-profit membership group, International Building Press (IBP).

This summer Assemble’s editorial team will provide placements to two journalist interns as part of the inaugural IBP internship scheme.

The move follows the launch of the Assemble internship programme in the summer of 2023 which saw an undergraduate marketing intern successfully complete a three-month placement.

Assemble Media Group Managing Director, Tom Broughton, said he was proud to partner with the IBP on its journey of transformation and support for independent journalism.

He said: “Our partnership with IBP is a neat fit. A key pillar of our mission is to promote independent journalism and we’re proud to be able to champion, support and hopefully inspire new and aspiring journalists through an expansion of our internship programme.”

Assemble’s Editorial Director Chloe McCulloch has been leading the internship programme with the IBP which will see five interns placed in companies operating in the built environment from next month.

Broughton added: “It’s fantastic to see Chloe leading and Assemble Media Group at the forefront of this initiative.”

“We expect the programme to grow and grow and we urge any of our partners and companies in our community to step forward and get involved in this exciting new innovative programme.”

“The programme is set to make a real difference by creating new opportunities for people wanting to work in journalism and communications in the built environment sector.”

International Building Press (IBP) is a membership organisation that brings together journalists and communications professionals involved in the construction, architecture, housing and property sectors.

IBP provides its members with unparalleled opportunities to share experiences, network and further their careers through a calendar of events and a prestigious annual awards scheme.
